According to the latest data, 114 participants of the Second World War are currently censused in Georgia, most of whom are 100 years old or more. The eldest of all is Aleksandre Buskivadze, a 104-year-old resident of Zestafoni Municipality.
According to the decision of the Government of Georgia, the participants of the Second World War will receive 1000 GEL in the form of cash and social assistance, and the family members of those who died in the Second World War (the spouse of the deceased in the Second World War and a child with a disability from childhood) who are members of the State Service of Veterans Affairs 500 GEL are registered in the database in connection with the 78th anniversary of the victory over fascism.

The state of war ended in Europe on May 8, 1945 (May 9 Moscow time) with the capitulation of the Wehrmacht, and in Asia on September 2, 1945, with the capitulation of Japan.
