Nikoloz Kvezereli honors soldiers who died for unity of the country in Nikozi

Nikoloz Kvezereli, first deputy director of the State Service of Veterans Affairs, Davit Razmadze, chairman of Gori Municipality Council, and Tamaz Shioshvili, deputy mayor of Gori, paid a visit to Village Nikozi, where they laid a wreath at the memorial of the warriors who died for the territorial integrity of Georgia during the armed conflict in the 1990s and in Russia-Georgia war 2008, and honored their memory.

Reportedly, head of the regional management department of the State Service of Veterans Affairs, Levan Amiridze, representatives of Shida Kartli adaivision, Zviad Sabashvili and Tengiz Devidze, veterans of the war and defense forces, were also present at the memorial.

“July 20 has been established to commemorate the soldiers who died during the hostilities in Samachablo in the 1990s, and in Russia-Georgia August War 2008, on the initiative of the State Service of Veterans Affairs, and will be celebrated every year from now on.

As a reminder, the memorial of the soldiers who died in the battle for the territorial integrity of Georgia was opened in 2019 at the initiative of the representatives of Shida Kartli Division of the Regional Management Department of the State Service of Veterans Affairs and with the support of the government.
